A group of Russian hackers have managed to gain access to a list of all the players at the World Cup of Hockey.
The hack was carried out on Friday by the hackers ikeastaxhack, ikeatack, ikesheckhack, ikeasheck and ikesleck hacktivists, all of which are based in Russia.
They managed to hack into the list of the players of the World Hockey Championships from which players can be removed from the tournament.
A number of players are not included in the list, because of their nationalities, so the hackers had to work with other hackers to obtain their information.
One of the most interesting points of the hack was that the list was stored on a cloud server, which allowed them to take control of a player’s personal information and use it for their own purposes.
Some players were also involved in the hack, but the group that was responsible for the hack seems to have been a different group.
On Twitter, one of the members of the hackers tweeted that the information was stored in the cloud, while another tweeted that they had obtained a list from an individual’s bank account.
In addition, it was said that the hackers were able to obtain the data of the individual through a backdoor.
All of this happened on Friday, which is the eve of the game between the United States and Russia in Philadelphia.
This hack is quite interesting, because it indicates that Russian hackers are quite active, even in such an important tournament, when many players are from the same country.
A source from the team behind the hack has said that they were not involved in this hack, and are currently analysing the data.
More to come.
